In some of my recipes, you will see “flax eggs” as one of the ingredients. Flax “eggs” are simply ground flax seeds mixed with water, jelled into and “egg-like” consistency. Here is how to make them:

  • One tbsp. of ground flax seeds
  • Two tbsp. of water

How to make:

  1. Place the flax meal into a small bowl or container.
  2. Add the water.
  3. Give them a quick stir.
  4.  Cover the bowl/container and place the mixture in the refrigerator for about five-ten minutes, or until the mixture has become thick and jelled.
  5. Once the mixture is done gelling, you are ready to use it in your recipe!*

*For the best use, add the flax egg in last to your recipe to ensure that it is still freshly jelled.
