Makes: one flax egg
In some of my recipes, you will see “flax eggs” as one of the ingredients. Flax “eggs” are simply ground flax seeds mixed with water, jelled into and “egg-like” consistency. Here is how to make them:
- One tbsp. of ground flax seeds
- Two tbsp. of water
How to make:
- Place the flax meal into a small bowl or container.
- Add the water.
- Give them a quick stir.
- Cover the bowl/container and place the mixture in the refrigerator for about five-ten minutes, or until the mixture has become thick and jelled.
- Once the mixture is done gelling, you are ready to use it in your recipe!*
*For the best use, add the flax egg in last to your recipe to ensure that it is still freshly jelled.
