Most store-bought hummus have oil as one of the ingredients; however, I do not see the need for oil in hummus. This hummus is delicious, creamy, and lower in fat than your average hummus.
- One BPA-free can of chickpeas*
- Two tbsp. of tahini
- Juice from one lemon
- Two tsp. of cumin
- One to two garlic cloves
- 1/4 of a cup water as needed to blend
- Salt and pepper to taste
How to make:
- Drain and rinse** the chickpeas.
- Add all of the ingredients into a food-processor or high-speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy!
*For best digestion and consistency, remove the husks from the chickpeas before blending.
**Rinsing your chickpeas will remove the excess starch; moreover, doing this will help with your digestion because the starch can cause bloating and stomach discomfort.
